APPS Travel Bursaries 

Thanks to the Australasian Plant Pathology Society, we have a number of travel bursaries available for early career and students to attend the Australasian Plant Virology Workshop at the Crowne Plaza, Gold Coast QLD from the 29 - 31 October 2024.

Student Bursaries 

Overview

A grant to fund the flights of postgraduate students to attend and present at APVW 2024.

The grant provides Higher Degree Research students up to $750 to assist in the travel cost of attending the Australasian Plant Virology Workshop 2024 in Gold Coast QLD.

The grant money will be pro-rated depending on where the student is travelling from. Students will need to submit a copy of the abstract and evidence of conference submission and if available the conference organisers acceptance of their presentation. Moreover, the students will need to submit a 100-word statement outlining the relevance of attending the conference to their research.

Requirements

1. Submit a 100-word statement outlining the relevance of attending the conference to your research
2. Submit an abstract (see above submission guidelines)

Guidelines for Assessment/Ranking:

1. Presentation type: Poster (4) vs Talk (6)
2. Other funding received: none (3) vs partial (1) vs fully funded (0)
3. Written statement: Excellent (6) vs Average (3) vs Poor (0)

Early Career Researcher Bursaries

Overview

A grant to fund the flights of early career researchers (ECR) to attend and present at APVW 2024.
